Day 14: God Can Multiply What You Offer

Date: January 22
📖 Scripture Readings:
Genesis 14:18–20 – Melchizedek, priest of God Most High, brings out bread and wine and blesses Abram, who offers a tenth of everything.
Psalm 110:1, 2, 3, 4 – “You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek.”
1 Corinthians 11:23–26 – “This is my body... this cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Luke 9:11b–17 – Jesus feeds five thousand with five loaves and two fish; “They all ate and were satisfied.”
🕊️ Daily Reflection:
Today’s readings are a powerful conclusion to the journey of reflecting on our past experiences. Genesis 14 recounts Melchizedek’s blessing over Abram, an act that foreshadows the sacred offering of the Eucharist. Abram responds by giving a tenth of all he has, recognizing that every victory comes from God. Likewise, when we look back over our own stories—our victories, losses, and unanswered questions—we are invited to do the same: bless God, and offer what we have in return.
In Luke 9, the disciples face a seemingly impossible situation: thousands to feed and only a small offering of five loaves and two fish. But Jesus takes what they have, blesses it, breaks it, and multiplies it. He does the same with us. Even if we feel our past is too broken or insignificant, when we surrender it to Him, He feeds multitudes with it. There are no wasted experiences in the hands of the Savior.
The words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 11 remind us of Christ’s ultimate offering: “This is my body… this is my blood.” In the Eucharist, we are not only remembering Jesus—we are participating in His redemptive gift. As you reflect on the past two weeks of prayer and journaling, ask yourself: What have I been holding onto? And what can I place in Jesus’ hands today to be multiplied and shared?
✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What “bread and fish” from your life might Jesus be asking you to place in His hands today?
What past wounds, insights, or steps of healing can become nourishment for others through your story?
💡 Action/Practice:
Take one moment or memory from your past that once felt painful or small, and write a prayer of offering:
“Lord, I give this to You. Multiply it for Your glory.”
Place it symbolically on the altar of your heart and trust that He will bless, break, and multiply it in due time.
🕯️ Conclusion:
You’ve reached a turning point. As we close this arc of reflection, remember: your life is not only a story of survival—it’s a gift to be offered. Christ invites you to remember Him, not just in church, but in your choices, your honesty, and your surrender. Whatever you bring today—no matter how small—He receives it, blesses it, and uses it to feed others.
✅ Daily Goal:
Identify one part of your story that God has already used for good.
Say a prayer of thanksgiving, and offer your next step in trust.
Let God multiply what you place in His hands.
