Day 13: Trusting the Story God Is Writing
Theme: Releasing the Past, Trusting in God’s Provision for the Future
First Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:1–10
In this passage, Paul shares both his spiritual encounters and the thorn in his flesh—a reminder of his weakness. Rather than removing his suffering, God responds: “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul’s surrender becomes the way God's strength is revealed. Today’s reading invites us to stop hiding our struggles and instead see how God can work through them.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 34
“Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.” The psalm calls us to experience, not just think about, God’s goodness. Even when we feel weak or burdened, God is near to those who seek Him. This is the foundation of trust—knowing that God's care surrounds us, even when life doesn’t make sense.
Gospel: Matthew 6:24–34
Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow. If God cares for the flowers and birds, how much more will He care for us? In a world filled with anxiety, this Gospel reminds us that peace comes not from controlling everything, but from seeking God’s Kingdom first and trusting Him to take care of the rest.
Reflection:
You’ve spent this past week looking at how your life has been shaped by past experiences. Today’s readings gently remind us that while the past may inform our story, it does not have to control it. God is inviting you to step into a new way of living—one rooted in grace, not perfection. You don’t need all the answers to move forward. You just need to trust that He is already at work in the next chapter.
Action/Practice:
Take a quiet moment today to let go of something you've been holding on to—whether it’s regret, fear, or control. Write it down and place it somewhere safe or symbolic. Then say a prayer asking God to hold it for you. As you go about your day, practice letting His peace guide your thoughts and actions.
Daily Goal:
Release one burden to God today. Make a conscious choice to stop carrying it alone.
Journal Prompt:
“What is one part of my past or present I’m still holding tightly? What would it feel like to place that into God’s hands?”
Conclusion:
Today closes a week of reflecting honestly on your life. You’ve begun to see your story with greater compassion and faith. Let this day be a turning point—not because everything is resolved, but because you’ve chosen to let grace lead the way. With God, the past is not wasted, and the future is full of possibility.
