Day 14: When Vulnerability Becomes Strength Arc: Reflecting on Past Experiences *

Scripture Reflection:
In 2 Corinthians 11:18, 21–30, Paul speaks boldly about his hardships—not to glorify suffering, but to demonstrate that it is in his weakness that Christ’s power is most visible. He boasts not in his strength, but in the evidence of God's sustaining grace through his trials. This passage reminds us that our past pain and struggles do not disqualify us; they often become the very places where God shows up most powerfully. The Gospel reinforces this with a challenge to focus our eyes not on material things, but on the light that fills our inner life. When our gaze is clear—when we’re honest, humble, and open to God—we become vessels of His light, even in the areas that once felt broken.

Daily Reflection:
Today is an invitation to reframe weakness. Can you see where past suffering revealed God’s faithfulness? Like Paul, you may carry scars from betrayal, hardship, or disappointment. But those very places can be turned into altars of praise. The world teaches us to hide our struggles, to boast in accomplishments and polish. Yet God teaches us to boast in truth—in the wounds that He is healing, in the places where His grace has lifted us from despair.

As you reflect, ask yourself: Where have I experienced “brushes with death,” whether physical, emotional, or spiritual? What did I learn about myself, others, or God in that place? Often, it is the places of greatest pressure that birth the greatest clarity. We become radiant not by avoiding our shadows, but by letting Christ shine through them.

Journal Prompt:
In what area of your life have you felt most broken, weak, or ashamed? How might that be a space where God wants to show His power? How would your story change if you believed that weakness is not something to hide, but a place where grace can abound?

Action/Practice:
Name one personal struggle that has shaped you. Write a letter to yourself from God’s perspective, honoring how far you’ve come. Speak truth into that space. Then choose one way to let someone else see your story—not to impress them, but to reflect the light of God’s work in you.

Conclusion:
As you close today's reflection, remember: God isn’t waiting for you to become perfect before He uses you. He is present in the mess, the weakness, the process. What you’ve lived through is not wasted. It may be the very treasure that someone else needs. Keep offering Him your story—He’s still writing it.

Daily Goal:
Find beauty in one area of your story you once wanted to hide. Let it become a window for grace.
