Day 14: Reflection on the Way, the Truth, and the Life
Theme: Knowing Christ and the Father through Faith
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures...”
Gospel:
John 14:6-14
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.’”
Reflection:
On this Feast of Saints Philip and James, we reflect on the foundational truth of our faith: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. In today’s readings, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians of the central gospel message—the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, witnessed by many—including the apostles. This act of sacrifice is the ultimate demonstration of God’s love for humanity. In the Gospel, Jesus offers a powerful revelation: He is the direct path to the Father, and through Him, we can experience true life.
For us today, this message invites reflection on how we are living out this truth. Do we believe that Jesus is the way to the Father in all aspects of our lives? Are we seeking His truth and life, or are we distracted by the world's false promises?
Action/Practice:
Take a moment today to examine your life and ask, "Am I following Christ's way? Am I living in His truth? Am I experiencing the fullness of life in Him?" Make one conscious choice today to deepen your faith in Christ by seeking Him in your actions, words, or thoughts. Consider a small act of kindness or prayerful reflection on His truth.
Daily Goal:
Live today as if Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life in your daily interactions. Choose to act with His love and truth, even in challenging situations.
Journaling Prompt:
“How does knowing that Jesus is the way to the Father change the way I approach my daily life and relationships? In what areas do I need to grow in living out His truth?”
Closing Summary:
As we reflect on the way, truth, and life found in Jesus Christ, may we deepen our relationship with Him, trusting that He leads us to the Father. Today, may our actions reflect the love and truth He embodies, knowing that in Him, we have life eternal.
